Employed, FIFO and graduate engineers

Your base salary is only part of the design.

Overtime, allowances, rosters, probation and HECS can change the assessment. I show which inputs count at selected lenders for eligible engineers, subject to lender criteria and policy change.

Engineer inspecting construction works

PAYG engineers

Base salary is often only one part of the position. Bonuses, overtime and project payments may support a home upgrade or first investment property at selected lenders for eligible engineers, subject to evidence, lender criteria and policy change.

FIFO and DIDO engineers

Site allowances, overtime and roster income can add an illustrative tens of thousands of dollars a year above base. Some lenders accept regular amounts in full; others shade or exclude them. Unpaid breaks between 8/6 or 2/1 swings also need to be read in context.

Site and remote-work allowances

Unpaid breaks and project end dates

Graduate and early-career engineers

A first home often overlaps with probation, HECS/HELP and the first major salary changes. Eligible engineers may have access through selected lenders to professional LMI waivers, guarantor lending or government deposit schemes, subject to lender and scheme criteria. Policies and scheme rules change.

I map the deposit, current income and commitments without assuming future promotions. The aim is a position that still fits when the role, city or project changes.
